iPhone Cases for Creatives

There have been so many cute and fun iphone cases coming out recently, i just had to share!

First up is one of the most unique iPhone cases I’ve seen. Which is saying a lot since theres SO many crazy ones out there.

Its a cross stitch iphone case! I really love when old arts like crocheting and cross stitch get a new breath of fresh air and creativity. The fun thing with this you can take out the stitching and make something new whenever you want!

Another one of my favorites are by Satchel & Sage. Seen this design before? Yup! I bought a print at the Renegade Craft Fair and haven’t gotten enough of it since. Read all about that story here. To purchase an iphone Case from Satchel & Sage, head over here!

This one from Amy Sia I almost bought when i saw it because it was so dang cute.

I definitely have a huge love for watercolor so i just about died when i saw those. Love this geo watercolor by her as well!

Now all i need to do is actually upgrade to the iPhone 4… or wait for the 5?! Decisions, decisions…

Going Home to Roost

Ok, theres a million houses that i love… this one – i love EVERY detail. The living room, the kitchen, the details, the colors, the windows… oh my goodness. Bonnie from Going Home to Roost has done a fabulous job of transforming an old barn into one of the cutest, brightest, most inviting spaces! Enjoy this fabulous home eye candy:

Wasn’t that just fabulous? Every image is by Bonnie from Going Home to Roost! Head over and read her blog… theres many DIY posts, how to grow a garden and how to go vegan! I’m definitely a carnivore but theres a lot of great ideas on how to eat more veggies and eat healthier. Check it out!

Create Create

Hey guys! Just wanted to share a fun creative types get together from last week. This is our second time to meet up and hang out and each time has been eye opening. As an artist, i believe its important to surround yourself with other creatives. We had interior designers, bloggers, event planners, photographers, graphic designers and writers all together talking about what we do and what inspires us.

This was our lovely host for the evening, the creative Clair Zinnecker. She is an incredible interior designer for Joel Mozersky. She also posts to an adorable blog Camille Styles all of her fun DIY ideas in her Transformed series.

This is the oh so amazing Ashley- yes, the famous Ashley that planned my wedding! If you ever need a day of coordinator or someone to plan the whole thing (which i HIGHLY recommend… goodbye stress!) then please hire this sweet, talented lady! Since she is in the process of making a website, im going to just post her email to the entire world. Hope thats ok, ash! Avehslage22@gmail.com Please only email her if youre interested in her fab services!

Ok so this is the second time I’ve met Katie and she is one of the sweetest women I’ve met! She is also a riot which always makes get togethers more fun. Maybe blame it on the fact that she’s a hilarious writer that posts constantly to her blog KatieSchnack.com. She also posted about the get together here including awesome advice from all the ladies on how to pursue your creative dreams. So head over and read it! Here writing is maybe 50 times better than mine!

We enjoyed some delish wine, cheeses and fruit… cant have a get together without some delish grub.

And what an incredible house! Its beautiful… a house from the 40s that has slowly been brought back to life by such an incredible interior designer.

Just check out her front entry wall that was featured on her blog posts. So great, right? Just check out the DIY over here.

Top Ten

Introducing: Top Ten! A series featuring top tens. Top ten what? Who knows. Top ten printmaking artists, top ten high heels, top ten product designs… top ten ways to go bungee jumping. Who knows. Thats the fun of it. Enjoy!

What the heck is that? Dwell Creative? Who knows. We might find out soon. Maybe. Anyway, on with the list!

1. First off, i have no idea how long this fake-animal-head-on-the-wall fad is going to last.. but i like it. Much better than read dead animals. Eww. Anyway, isnt this just the freakin coolest thing in the world? The polygon double deer is by the artist Koehi Nawa who has much more incredible work on his site. Considering this is the only piece in existence (for now), im pretty sure it would be pretty dang expensive.

2 & 3. Ok, doesnt that picture just make you want to go buy everything? It does for me. Atleast the poufs and the geometric side table. Both are from Crate and Barrel. I just love the bold colors and modern Moroccan look! Turns out the poufs are made in Minnesota. Not so much Moroccan. Still love them.

4. This sectional from CB2. Considering i have a huge maroon couch, I’m dreaming of a nice grey or neutral couch i could sink into. Im not dissing our couch, its just really hard to match with maroon! Just sayin.

5. I’ve been eyeing the arc floor lamp for years now. Love the 70s look while its great for saving on floor space. Also from Crate and Barrel.

6. I love that all you need is a throw pillow or two to completely change a room. Especially if its a few Caitlin Wilson Textiles pillows. ITS SO FLUFFY IM GONNA DIE! Ok no really, its just i love the colors and patterns. Its not like its a unicorn or something.

7. First off, let me just say that i am an artist without an easel. That is not ok. Second, isn’t this the coolest freakin easel you’ve ever seen? Its freakin clear! Love it. Damn you, CB2.

8. If you ever read my blog, i might have posted about these rugs 2 days ago. But they are just so beautiful to my eyes! Amy Butler. Always rocking my face off with her awesome patterns and colors.

9. You always need a good painting. Even if its a print of a good painting. At 300 bucks, its a bit pricy for a print. Ok its overpriced. But i still like it. Its better than the 3,000 painting I was going to put up. Ok so i swear im not sponsored by C&B but for some reason it sounds like i am. funny how stuff turns out.

10. I love plants. Even though i always end up killing them. I still love them and attempt to keep them around. Found out that i have 17 plants in our little one bedroom apartment. I’m telling you, i love me some plants. Especially succulents. Especially succulents in adorable terrariums from Zgallerie.

Whelp, there was the first ever Top Ten! I suppose it should have been Top Ten Crate and Barrel finds.. but I’m not going back now! By the way… its 2am and I literally haven’t stopped working since 10 this morning. Thats what happens when i sleep in… i stay up! Ok, ok, finally headed to bed! G’night! Err… morning…

Dream Art Studio

So I’m goin crazy crammed in my little office corner. I am blessed to have as much space as i have… but I’ve been dreaming of a larger space… not just an office but enough room for an actual studio.

Heres some studios I’ve been drooling over…

Incredible studio for printmaking. Link found here

This colorful art studio just seems to draw out creativity… love the space for multiple different projects. Might throw me into ADD mode. See more pictures here.

LOVE this antique cubby. Great for storage.. theres antique boxes and shelves all over the room that add beautiful texture and peeling paint – just love it. See more of the studio here.

This is such a bright room! Check out more shots here.

I adore this bright, clean art studio. All the storage space and table space… oh the things i would create in there! Check out dozens of pictures on Donnas blog.

This studio to the artist Marina Dorignac is inspirational.

And of course last but not least, Mae Chevrette.

I’ve posted about her beautiful art over here but just wanted to show off her incredible, funky studio.

I know, right? I love it. The texture, the greenery, the color… love it. Also check out her work…  youll love that even more 🙂 Till next time!

Cocoa & Hearts

Do you know Madebygirl yet? She is one of those blogs i can’t go a day without reading… her style, her love for color, her paintings have always been inspirational. In fact, her beautiful office was huge inspiration for my newly updated office! Jen Ramos is an incredible designer and graphic artist that proves you can make a living off blogging and online sales. Jen recently just opened her new shop called Cocoa & Hearts an online shop for all of her original paintings. They are all acrylic on canvas and generally pretty large – 48 inches long! They are definitely statement pieces

And good for Jen – most of her paintings were sold in only a week or two! Incredible! But don’t worry – there are still more to purchase and also she will be coming out with some 8x10s for the oh so stylish yet oh so broke ones of us! Go check the place out and check back often – she’s a paint-o-holic and I’m sure will add new work weekly.

First Painting: Sold! (kind of…)

So i love to paint. I’m not super great at it because its really more the relaxation of it for me. Usually i paint something 20 times over before i ever actually like what comes out of it. Like this red painting:

I just started to paint it just because i felt like painting. Not crazy about it, but i don’t hate it. This one (the map painting on the right)  i LOVE:

Would you even consider a piece with only 2 colors a painting? Well, this next sucker, i can say i am proud of. In fact, its the first piece i sold! Well… could have, I had a “buyer” offer some lovely cash for it. BUT of course, i gave it away. What can i say? She was my best friend and graduating from college… OF COURSE i have to give her an awesome graduation present (for the record, i only say my painting was an awesome present because she was nuts-o about it). Still, the fact that i had a buyer willing to put down the cash… in my head, i sold my first painting!

Here is some good textcha fo ya…

Want some crazy awesome news? This weekend Michael’s was having their 50% off canvas sale..  PLUS i got the hook up to an ADDITIONAL %25 off coupon (that counts even with sales!) So i got 75% off of 3 massive canvases…. soooo i assume there will be lots of painting in my near future!

Weekend reading…

Nothing better than getting off work and reading while devouring some delish Chipotle!

I just got Creative, Inc. In the mail yesterday and haven’t been able to put it down since. It was so hard to go to my 9-5 today with out quitting to go out on my own… But considering the book discourages that, I’ll be patient for now. So pick it up!

Ye be waarned… may cause spontaneous A) creativity  B) quitting  C) art supply purchases

Heres a cute video from the two adorable authors:

Look through 300 lenses at once…

I suppose this is just photography day 🙂 I just stumbled across these images and was pretty floored. Initially i thought they were some sort of acrylic or oil painting. The artist, Switzerland-based Corinne Vionnet, conducts an online search and sifts through photo sharing sites and carefully layers 200-300 photos on top of one another until she gets her desired result.

Its pretty amazing – you can see silhouettes of hundred of figures and unique angles. It so interesting that you are looking through hundreds of lenses at the same moment…

Check out other work at CorinneVionnet.com.

abby try again

I always adore local austin artists so I always enjoy finding new ones! Abby has never taken any photography classes but one day just decided to pick up a vintage camera and start shooting… I love the small glimpse into her quirky life! Check her out at Abbytryagain.com or her blog here.

And if theres any Austinites reading, she is hosting an event at West Elm on Sat the 26th from 1-6 that i am definitely going to have to check out!
